Great podcast today on real estate investments hot and cold cities. Interesting information about cities many of us weren’t aware of.
Austin Texas is a great place and housing in Texas is very affordable. However, as a former landlord with properties in College Station Texas (home to Texas A&M) and Austin Texas, very hip, progressive college town, I can attest to the extremely high property taxes, which was one of the reasons I got out of that market a few years back.
I was very pleased to hear that Sacramento California is number 1 on the hot list. I live in Fair Oaks about 20 minutes from Sacramento. While the housing market in Sacramento is cooling down as it is in many areas in the U.S., the rental market continues to be white hot.
I have never regretted buying a short-saled duplex in Sacramento in 2008 but listening to your podcast today made my day!
